Crowds gather on the front at St Bees to wave off the team at the start of its mammoth journey

Meanwhile the team actually begins its journey from Stonehouse Farm St Bees

And after a short journey to Whitehaven dip their back wheels in the Irish Sea

Day two already and Ray takes the biscuit (and a banana and some sandwiches) as he arrives first at Carrigill

The rest of the party eventually catches up with him

And then it's a long, long climb
