Introduction

The Lake District Mountains is intended as an archive of walks done and mountains climbed  over the years in and around the fells of the English Lake District. Anyone who enjoys walking, hiking or climbing, particularly in the hills of the Lake District National Park will, I hope, find something of interest here. Although I have used a number of sources in compiling the fells listed on this site a good deal of its inspiration comes from the work of Alfred Wainwright. Inspiration has also come from the increasing number of excellent websites that now exist relating to this subject, some of which are listed on my links page.
