The Lake District Mountains |
Walk completed 21/08/2002 with Richard. We had set off intending to complete this walk a number of times only to be put off by extreme weather or some other consideration. We did it the easy way by driving up from Buttermere to Newlands Hause. From the car park we climbed the steep path that ascends close to Moss Beck and Moss Force. The ground becomes very boggy as the path crosses towards and then skirts the flanks of High Snockrigg before climbing towards the summit. If time is short the round trip of about 3 miles and approximately 1400ft of ascent is easily completed and the effort well rewarded in terms of the views on offer. |
