21/06/2016 - Walk and Photos - Scafell and Slight Side from Wasdale Head with Paul D, Kate and Tom. Walk first completed August 1987 - with Richard. It was warm but cloudy as we set off from Wasdale Head. We joined the path that climbs up Lingmell Gill and over Brown Tongue then just before reaching Mickledore we cut across the top of the screes to reach the foot of Lord's Rake. I seem to remember Lord's Rake being very busy and the rocks slippery under foot. We followed the West Wall Traverse into Deep Gill. There were one or two slightly hairy moments but the views were spectacular and well worth the effort. The summit was shrouded in mist but the climb was memorable. We took an easy route down over the grassy slopes towards Green How, before reaching Lingmell Gill again and then back to Wasdale Head.
