36.The Old Man of Coniston 2634ft/803m

19 03 2009 - Walk and photos - Coniston Old Man, Brim Fell and Swirl How with Paul D.

27 04 2004 - Walk and photos - Brown Pike, Buck Pike, Dow Crag, and Coniston Old Man with Paul D.

I first ventured up the Old Man of Coniston in July 1986 on my own. It rained from start to finish and for most of the walk I could see no more than a few feet in front of me. Five years later (01 07 1991) and the walk I did with Richard, taking in Brown Pike, Buck Pike, Dow Crag, The Old Man, Swirl How, Grey Friar  and Wetherlam remains one of the most enjoyable walks I've ever completed. The weather was good and the views were superb all the way round. One of the best.
