| 14 05 05 - Blencathra and Mungrisdale Common. |
| I started from the car park near the Blencathra Centre west of Threlkeld, taking the path that zig-zags up Blease fell. It was a warm and sunny day with a few high clouds though the tops were colder and more windy than anticipated. The good weather had brought people out and there was quite a crowd on the summit. I saw nobody else however, venture across Mungrisedale common, perhaps because Wainwright's description of this fell is so dismissive. I found it very peaceful and surrounded by Skiddaw, Great Calva, High Pike, Carrock Fell, Bowscale Fell and Blencathra etc it was always full of interest. |
