| 12 04 07 - Harter Fell, Mardale Ill Bell, High Street and Rough Crag with Paul Drury |

It was back to Mardale Head today on another fabulous day for walking. Visibility was a little less than perfect but I still managed to get some reasonable photographs. Mardale Head was very crowded and parking places limited but we were able to squeeze the car in at the side of the road and set off towards Gatescarth pass. Most people seemed to be doing the walk in an anti-clockwise direction. I think we chose the right way. On the way home we stopped off in Shap at the very friendly and welcoming Bull's Head Inn where we had a superb pint of Thwaites' Wainwright Ale. Both the Bull's Head and the Wainwright Ale are to be recommended. It was another tremendous day. |
